Shock & Vibration Isolation Products

At Greene Rubber Company we are dedicated shock and vibration isolation specialists with over forty years of experience engineering molded rubber products. We use the latest in finite equipment analysis, computer-aided design and proprietary dynamic analysis software to optimize designs quickly, resulting in shorter product development cycles for our customers. We use integrated CAD/CAM systems to reduce tooling lead times and allow rapid prototype delivery.

We employ state-of-the-art testing facilities to support our engineering and design activities. These testing facilities include standardized fatigue, static and dynamic test equipment for characterization of elastomer materials, which is used for rapid results and excellent process control. Physical part testing in our laboratory is conducted using servo-hydraulic test stands and data acquisition using the latest hardware and software. We also utilize portable test equipment for measuring noise and vibration in the field and for helping our engineers define and solve design challenges. For unique applications, we have the ability to build customized test systems to reproduce real-world conditions. Testing is an integral part of our engineering process and enables us to create innovative solutions to complex problems for a diverse customer base.

Sound Dampening Products

At Greene Rubber Company, we are noise and sound suppression experts. We engineer noise reduction for your application through the use of elastomeric foams, tapes, and other materials that may be laminated, coated, or embossed, with or without adhesive. These products can be provided in sheets, cut to shape, or packaged in kits as required by the project.

Our basic sound suppression materials provide:
  • Damping of the structureborne vibrations that produce noise
  • Isolation from shock energy and structureborne vibrations
  • Barriers to block airborne sounds
  • Absorption of airborne sound

Rubber & Plastic Extrusions

An extrusion is a long length of rubber or plastic pushed through a mold plate in the shape of a tube, a "P," "D," "U" or other irregular shape. Greene Rubber has a large inventory of standard extrusions which can be cut-to-length or altered to meet special requirements. Most standard rubber extrusions are made from a neoprene compound between 45 and 65 durometer.

In addition, we are able to extrude custom profiles from most common elastomers. Greene Rubber has a large inventory of standard extrusions (catalog) which can be cut-to-length or altered to meet special requirements.

EMI & Thermal Shielding

Two critical issues for the electronics packaging engineer are electromagnetic interference (EMI) and heat dissipation.

EMI Shielding

With such a wide variety in modern integrated circuit packages, creative EMI shielding becomes increasingly critical. Additionally, today's electronic equipment must meet global regulations that make a given device more susceptible to internal and external EMI emissions. Many packages have space or closure force needs beyond standard specifications. Greene Rubber Company offers capabilities beyond standard gaskets to create innovative solutions to EMI shielding problems.

Thermals

As any designer knows, heat can degrade component and system performance. ...

Tubing and Assemblies

Tubing

Tubing is an extruded, round shape made from rubber, plastic, or metal. It is usually non-reinforced, but can be obtained with fabric or wire reinforcement for added strength and/or to prevent kinking during a bend. Tubing differs from hose in that hose contains a tube, reinforcement for burst pressure, and an outside cover.

There are hundreds of materials and formulations available to suit your specific application. In general, our tubing is either plastic or rubber based. Plastic tubing is made from PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene, PTFE, FEP, PFA, and nylon. Our rubber tubing is made from neoprene, latex, thermoplastic, polyurethane, natural gum rubber, silicone, and fluorocarbon.

Tapes & Adhesives

3M™, St. Gobain, Mactac, and Flexcon are the most often used tapes at Greene Rubber. We sell rolls or cut parts from these popular materials. The uses of tapes are endless and they solve a multitude of sealing and fastening problems.

Tapes can be used as an end product such as labels, spacers, bumpers, or as a simple joining system, to a complex and rugged replacement for metal rivets and other fasteners, as an insulator for electrical and thermal conductivity, as a decorative or warning tape for signage, as a mask, a seal, a splice, or a protective surface. Tapes can be slit, die cut, waterjet cut, zoned on a part or used in its full log width.

Tapes consist of a substrate, an adhesive, and usually a paper or ...
